About Me
I retired from the U.S. Air Force in 2004, worked in the civilian sector for short while until I returned to teaching for the Department of Defense as I did when I was active duty. In the course of time and after ugly events, P.T.S.D. had gotten the better of me. I had to leave civil service on disability. Once I was staying at home, and straightened out all of the bureaucracy of being on disability, I felt a strong need to serve an give back rather than sit on the couch and collect tax dollars. It was then that Acacia Outreach Church was planted. God has put on my heart three things He wants me to do. 1. Visit and minister to hospitalized veterans. 2. Offer chaplaincy services to law enforcement, firefighters, and EMS professionals. 3. Help churches and nonprofit veterans organizations raise awareness and funds to support their missions and special causes. After a while of prayer, I realized that, in order to be able to do these things, I had to be a chaplain. So, I sought out a Christian ordination and chartered affiliation from the Universal Life Church and Christian Academy. I am currently seeking out ministerial and chaplaincy train to brush up on the skills required to help those God puts into my path. I decided to operate Acacia Outreach Church as free church, chosen to not incorporate under Title 26, section 501(c)(3). Title 26, section 508(c)(1)(A) makes ?mandatory exceptions? to section 501(c)(3) that excludes churches from the requirement of section 501(c)(3) incorporation. This makes churches, by their very nature, a non-profit religious organizational that is tax exempt. Acacia Outreach Church may accept tax deductible ?charitable contributions? and gifts. Title 26, Section 170(c)(2)(B) defines such contributions; allowing Acacia Outreach Church to accept them and the contributor to consider them tax deductible. Acacia Outreach Church willingly accepts charitable contributions and gifts, but advises contributors and patrons to follow the advice of a qualified tax professional before claiming any contributions as tax deductible.
